BACK TO BASICS – Praying To Surrender to God’s Will

“So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.” Acts 12:5NIV Prayer is one of the basic tenants of our faith. We are living in a day and age where the power of hell has been unleashed. However, as Christians there is nothing that we cannot overcome on our knees through the power of prayer.

God is calling us back to the basic principle of total dependency on Him. We have tried many strategies and plans and expelled much energy, all of which have achieved very little. It is now time for this local church to seek direction from above.

Peter was imprisoned. Herod Agrippa used sixteen soldiers, two chains, three gates with guards at each of them and his grim determination to keep Peter imprisoned, with the expectation of having him executed. However, the church, spent quality time in sincere and intensive prayer. To their amazement, an angel of the Lord broke Peter’s chains and freed him from prison. This was a response to the power of prayer.

We must go forward but can only do so with God’s help! Let us join together this month in consecration and prayer!
