Lost and Found: The Heart of the Father

Lost and Found: The Heart of the Father

At Inns Court Christian Fellowship in Bristol, we believe every month is a fresh opportunity to encounter God’s love in a deeper way. Following our recent Church Outreach Programme and Pastor Dave Mitchell’s inspiring sermon at the Service on the Green, our theme for August 2025 is:

"Lost and Found: The Heart of the Father"

This message, rooted in Luke 15, reminds us of God’s great compassion for those who are spiritually lost. In this powerful chapter, Jesus addresses the Pharisees and scribes, who criticised Him for spending time with sinners. His response? Three unforgettable parables:

The Lost Sheep – God’s relentless pursuit of the one who strays

The Lost Coin – Heaven’s joy when something precious is restored

The Lost (Prodigal) Son – The Father’s open arms, ready to forgive and welcome home

As Joel Green highlights in The Gospel of Luke, these stories reveal God’s initiative in seeking the lost, the celebration of restoration, and the striking contrast between divine grace and human attitudes. The Heart of the Father is a heart that rejoices when people are reconciled to Him.

This month, whether you’re a long-time believer or someone exploring faith, we invite you to join our Sunday worship services at ICCF. You’ll find heartfelt worship, Bible-based teaching, and a warm church community ready to walk alongside you.

"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him." – Luke 15:20 (NKJV)

At Inns Court Christian Fellowship, we want to live out that same compassion—seeking the lost, welcoming the broken, and rejoicing over every life changed by the Gospel.

📅 Join us this Sunday at 11:00 am for uplifting worship and teaching from God’s Word. Everyone is welcome!
