Our theme this month is, “Reaching with the Light”. It is the 2019 Corporate theme for the Church of God of Prophecy in the UK and has three focal points:
Me-Reach
Personal Development for our people
In-Reach
Supporting those within our church organisation
Out-Reach
Supporting those within our communities
This was the theme of the recent Pastors & Companions Conference; which greatly impacted me. This month, we will walk through some important passages of Scripture, Exodus 10:21-23, “The Ninth Plague of Exodus – Darkness; Matthew 5:13-16, “Believers Are Salt and Light”; Philippians 2:12-18, “Light Bearers” and others on the theme of Christian Light in a world of darkness.When taking up membership in the Church of God of Prophecy, we make a simple covenant or commitment. The Covenant we make is as follows:
“Will you sincerely promise in the presence of God and these witnesses that you will accept this Bible as the Word of God – believe and practice its teachings rightly divided – the New Testament as your rule of faith and practice, government and discipline, and walk in the light to the best of your knowledge and ability.” Our response is simply, “I will”.
Let us “walk in the light as He is in the light” 1 John 1:7.
